Tablescape Tuesday!

Susan at Between Naps on the Porch hosts Tablescape Tuesday:

Each Tuesday, participants will be posting a tablescape of their choice on their blog. It can be a single place setting, a bistro table set for two or a full blown dinner table, for a party of six or more…what ever tickles your fancy. Have fun with it!

This is my first week participating and to start things off I would like to share my fall table…

Can’t wait to see the other tablescapes – I love that word – tablescape!

  15. I love the manner in which you celebrate fall and then have Thanksgiving and Christmas. We have Spring with things like tulip displays in the hills here and Floriade in Canberra our national capital city where the entire gardens are planted out. I have only seen pictures as it is quite a lot of walking.
Then in Nov we have Melbourne Cup Day which is a public holiday …for a horse race….only in Australia.!!
Then even thinking about Christmas as the weather gets warmer is a bit of a gamble. It could be 20C or 40C. So it is hard to plan meals. However most
of try to have roast meats and vegetables and plum pudding. A lot have prawns or other sea food which is not my scene and then many more are on holidays. So when Autumn begins, it is a sigh of relief that the heat is abating and depending on where in the country you live….the further south and then the higher up in the south gives the best colors in autumn foliage.
But we have not traditionally celebrated Halloween. In fact my Church upbringing would have greatly discouraged it as would many of the main line churches a few decades ago. It is now being picked up but is a bit of a foreign import that does not sit all that happily here as the traditions are not there.
So I have never seen a fall table set. I love to bring in glory vine in all its rich colors inside in vases etc but these are very new….and lovely.
