A friend at work went out to dinner last night and I had to share this lovely napkin fold with you:

The bow tie has the restaurant’s address & phone number on the back!

Don’t you just love it!

Devotional – Praying God’s Word   Leave a comment

Beth Moore-Praying God’s Word Day by Day

June 7

~I not only love God and trust him, I love trusting him. It is a constant reminder of a perpetual miracle in my life.~

Lord, just as Your apostles pled and ultimately received, I ask you also to increase my faith! (Luke 17:5)

Father, I want You to be able to look at my life as You did Stephen’s and be able to say that I am full of the Holy Spirit and faith, and that many people were brought to the Lord through my witness (Acts 11:24).

Just as You did through Paul and Barnabus to the early disciples, strengthen this disciple and encourage me to remain true to faith, for Your Word says, “We must go through hardships to enter the kingdom of God” (Acts 14:22)

Thank You, God, for purifying my heart by faith (Acts 15:9).

Spring Reading – Update Home Stretch   1 comment

Stepping Heavenward by Elizabeth Prentiss

I absolutey adored this book.  It was convicting, humorous and honest.  You walk with Katy through her spiritual growth and cheer her on through her struggles.  I will be reading this one over and over again.

Aunt Dimity Goes West by Nancy Atherton

The Aunt Dimity books are some of my favorite reads.  Clever and fun, I always have trouble putting these books down.  I want to finish them in one reading!  Aunt Dimity is my favorite character in the books and was delighted with the addition of another “Dimity” type of character dropping into the scene!  A delightful surprise.

Key Lime Pie Murder by Joanne Fluke

I like that Joanne Fluke’s mysteries always involve food and that she includes recipes.  This book was loaded with them. I enjoy the character, Hannah – the detective  – and the interactions with her family.  Simple mysteries, fun stories.

The Thirteenth Tale

The whole twin theme intrigued me being that I am a twin.  The twist at the end was a little too twisted for me though! I wanted a different ending.   But, still a very good read and a book you could see produced into a movie.

Miss Julia Strikes Back by Ann B Ross

The Miss Julia books just crack me up!  Another funny adventure with Miss Julia as she goes after the thieves that steal her engagement and wedding rings as well as other jewelery. Miss Julia has a sharp whit and some of her comments are doozies!

Real Christianityby William Wilberforce – This is going to be one of those books I will be reading several times and will keep referencing back to – My next time reading it, I would like to do so in one sitting!  – Good Luck!  Maybe on an overseas trip! OOOH!  Steve, where are we going next?

The Sisters Grimm Book 4 by Michael Buckley and Peter Ferguson – These are very clever books.  This one had an odd/random comment about the Purpose Driven Life that was well, just odd!

 Still in the Stack!

Total Forgiveness by R T Kendall – I will be starting this one this week! The last in the stack before summer arrives. Can’t wait for the next reading session.

Haven’t Arrived Yet

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling – Due out in July.  Definitely on the Summer Reading list.
