Praying For My Husband Monday   6 comments

praying-monday.jpg

It’s Monday morning and this week’s prayer for my husband is going to focus on his work…

Father God, I pray for my husband’s work.  I pray that you would bless what he does.  May he be a man of integrity and respected by his co-workers. Give him strength, faith and courage to do his job and to do it well for your glory and honor.   May he call on your name and strive to please you in all he does.

Give him confidence in his abilities so that he can anticipate problems and find solutions quickly.  May he be an asset to his company and not a liability.  Bless the company he works for and may they continue to succeed honestly and without any cause for disgrace.  Show him opportunities that will develop his skills and encourage him to grow.

May he be disciplined in following your lead and following in the path that you have set out for him.  If this means a different career path, may you open those doors for him that no man can shut.

May our home be one that is welcoming to him after a long day of work.  May he feel refreshed and comfortable when he is at home. Show me how I can encourage and support him so that he can have full confidence in me.  Lord may I bring him good and not harm all the days of my life (Proverbs 31:11-12)

Lord, I am asking You to fill him with the knowledge of Your will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding so that he may live a life worthy of you and please you in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of You, being strengthened with all power according to Your glorious might so that he may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully give you thanks for all you have provided. (Colossians 1:9-12)

You have blessed us Lord, help us to be good stewards of those blessings in your holy name I pray,

Amen!

Decor-a-Tea – Week 3   23 comments

March 30 – April 5

Decor-a-Tea
Share ideas and pictures that incorporate tea and/or tea themes into home decor. Displays, art, prints, fabrics, and collection all count in this category. Do you use teapots and teacups as a part of your home decor? If so, describe how.

I think this week’s theme is one of my favorites in the blogathon.  As part of my decorating during the seasons/holidays, my dining room table is always set with the current theme.  This week, I put away the Easter decor and set the table for a spring garden tea party.

This tea is all about flowers and welcoming spring.  One of the cups on the table is quite unique.  It is heart shaped.  You really can’t tell it is heart shaped unless you see it with some tea in it.  So, let me pour you cup of some beloved tea…

My table will be set until Memorial Day, which means…

Kettle’s on, cups are waiting,
Favorite chairs, anticipating,
No matter what I have to do,
My friend, there’s always time for you.

Francis of Assisi

All creatures of our God and King
Lift up your voice and with us sing,
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Thou burning sun with golden beam,
Thou silver moon with softer gleam!

Refrain

O praise Him! O praise Him!
Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

Holy God by Brian Doerksen

Holy, holy, holy God
Creating, commanding
Transcendent Adonai
Defending love, destroying sin
The warrior divine

(chorus)

Forgiving, redeeming
From every tribe and tongue
Arising first, the nail-scarred Lamb
Salvation’s champion

(chorus)

Romancing, pursuing
Reclaiming to restore
Releasing hearts, transforming lives
The lion’s mighty roar
