Hello and welcome to my blog! Thanks for stopping by. My name is Lana G! I am a MCWWNK (married Christian woman with no kids). I have a wonderful husband named Steve and we will have been married 20 years this July. We live in the state of Washington and I work in the state of California. This puts me on a plane two times a week, hence the name of my blog – Above the Clouds.

The fun part of this Ultimate Blogging Party is that today is my Blogging One Year Anniversary! Time flies when you are having fun! I must admit that I started blogging out of curiosity because of my sister Ellen. She started blogging and I found it fascinating and tried it out on the sly! But then I was hooked and I absolutely love blogging.

I really did not have a particular goal for my blog when I first started and now the following verses that Paul writes about in Philemon 4-7 are what I would like for people to experience here:

I always thank my God as I remember you in my prayers, because I hear about your love for all his people and your faith in the Lord Jesus. I pray that your partnership with us in the faith may be effective in deepening your understanding of every good thing we share for the sake of Christ. Your love has given me great joy and encouragement, because you, brother, have refreshed the hearts of the Lord’s people.

I want you to experience all that here and most of all that your heart is refreshed in the Lord! The way that I hope to do this is not only through what is written and shared here but also by my photography. That is why 99% of my posts include a photograph. I am not a professional by any means but I really enjoy photography.

One of my favorite things to do with my photos is to make collages as well as Bible verse photos. I do not go anywhere without my camera. I even take pictures at the grocery store! This makes for interesting photos to match a verse to and it also has allowed me to appreciate all the wonders of creation!

Blogging has blessed my socks off. I am so encouraged by the different blogs I visit. I love participating in several different memes and photography challenges during the week. Blogging keeps me up to date with friends and loved ones and they in turn are up to date on what is happening in our lives.

I have been blogging for a year this month, so my question is what made you start your blog? 

Today is my 1 year bloggy anniversary! I started my blog because I was curious about what my sister Ellen and brother Steve were up to and trying to figure out what the whole blogging thing was all about.  Now I am hooked!

Question 2
Do you speak another language? If so, why or how did you learn it?

Yes, Russian and some Spanish.  Russian because I grew up in a Russian home.  I am first generation Russian.  I took Spanish in high school.

Question 3
Morning person, or night owl (or somewhere in between)? 

Depends.  During the week I am a morning person. On the weekends I tend to be a night owl.

Question 4
Do you exercise on a regular basis?

Yes and now with the time change I will be even more motivated.  I like to walk outside and would rather do that when it is light outside.  My husband and I are discovering that we really enjoy hiking but we usually work out at the gym on the weekends.

If money were not an object what is one thing you would like to do for another person?

Send my husband to flight school and buy him an airplane.

Question 6
What is one of your favorite attributes of our Lord God?

Compassion: a feeling of deep sympathy and sorrow for another who is stricken by misfortune, accompanied by a strong desire to alleviate the suffering.  That he would feel that for me a sinner saved by grace is beyond understanding!

Question 7
Have you ever thought about adoption or foster care? 

Actually, no.  I do enjoy being an aunt though to all my many many nieces and nephews since we do not have any kids of our own.
