This week, Susan is hosting “In ‘Other’ Words” at her site, Forever His . She has chosen a quote by Joni Eareckson Tada:
One of the most wonderful things about knowing God is that there’s always so much more to know, so much more to discover. Just when we least expect it, He intrudes into our neat and tidy notions about who He is and how He works.
~ Joni Eareckson Tada ~
And that, my friends, is why the Bible is a timeless book! Our God is an infinite God. We being finite creatures cannot even begin to understand all there is to know about him!
His word is filled with timeless truths and scholars have gone to their graves without the full knowledge of what is hidden in its pages. Romans 11:33-36 says it all…
33 Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God!
How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out!
34 “Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor?”
35 “Who has ever given to God, that God should repay him?”
36 For from him and through him and to him are all things.
To him be the glory forever! Amen.
We must never allow our finite minds to stop searching and gleaning all that is still hidden in the word for us to discover. It is a grand treasure hunt and the rewards are endless. So, until the Lord takes me home I will search for the wonders in his word…
