Day two and we are off to Wyoming through Yellowstone National Park. We have quite the drive today and so much to see! Here is what we saw:
We headed from the North Entrance on our way to the South Entrance of Yellowstone. To get there, we had to go over Dunraven Pass. There was still snow over the pass – brisk and beautiful!
On the other side of the pass we came to Canyon Village. This is called the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone and offers a magnificent view of the Lower and Upper Falls. WOW!
Sorry for the interruption – some Bison decided to cross the road and stop traffic! This is in the Hayden Valley of Yellowstone. They call this and the Lamar Valley the Serengeti of Yellowstone because of all the wild animals roaming around. The best time to see them is in the early morning and late afternoon/evening.
We then continued along the way through Lake Village which is the beginning of Yellowstone Lake. This lake is huge! We were running a bit short on time. We had to move along so we could make our dinner reservations in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Here’s just a tease shot of our next adventure – The Grand Tetons!
Psalm 96
A Song of Praise to God Coming in Judgment
1 Oh, sing to the LORD a new song!
Sing to the LORD, all the earth.
2 Sing to the LORD, bless His name;
Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day.
3 Declare His glory among the nations,
His wonders among all peoples.
4 For the LORD is great and greatly to be praised;
He is to be feared above all gods.
5 For all the gods of the peoples are idols,
But the LORD made the heavens.
6 Honor and majesty are before Him;
Strength and beauty are in His sanctuary.
7 Give to the LORD, O families of the peoples,
Give to the LORD glory and strength.
8 Give to the LORD the glory due His name;
Bring an offering, and come into His courts.
9 Oh, worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness!
Tremble before Him, all the earth.
10 Say among the nations, “The LORD reigns;
The world also is firmly established,
It shall not be moved;
He shall judge the peoples righteously.”
11 Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad;
Let the sea roar, and all its fullness;
12 Let the field be joyful, and all that is in it.
Then all the trees of the woods will rejoice
13 before the LORD.
For He is coming, for He is coming to judge the earth.
He shall judge the world with righteousness,
And the peoples with His truth.
Hey wait…you changed your blog presentation. I think I like it. :o)
Your wildlife photos and landscape shots are just amazing. Makes me want to travel.
These photos are beautiful with the Psalms!
Glorious photos……love the middle canyon gorge one but they are all fabulous……as usual. My eyes would be envious, but the Psalm reminds me that such action is nor acceptable…so just congratulations and no envy today.
Gorgeous photos! I feel as if I have taking a step back in time, actually movies that I have seen of Wyoming!
Again. I enjoyed seeing your wonderfuil photos! We visited Yellowstone in August so there wasn’t any snow. I’d love to go back in Winter one year and experience it that way.
