August 301

Happy Labor Day and Mosaic Monday to you all.

If you want a different way to serve up ice cream, here’s a fabulous way to serve the toppings!  Rather than on the ice cream, how about serving them on the cone!  Simply divine!

Tablescape Tuesday – Anticipating Spring Tea   17 comments

It was pretty chilly in Washington this weekend.  We had snow on Saturday evening into Sunday and it was quite pretty but it also made me start anticipating Spring!  So, I decided to decorate a Spring Tea Table.  The pink plates are my latest find at the Goodwill as well as one of the tea pots.  Most of the items on this table are from Goodwill.

I did find a new little shop this weekend called the Rose Tree Cottage.  I found some great silks there and the nest and most of the flowers on the napkins are from this shop.  The chair covers are of course pillow cases!  Oh so much cheaper than the real chair covers!  My centerpiece is also a Goodwill find.  I thought it was a unique arrangement and is a fun addition to my Anticipation of Spring Garden Tea!

Do come again soon!  I know Susan is expecting a visit so head on over to her blog to see more tablescapes!

Happy Blue Monday and Happy New Year!   I am combining Blue Monday and Tablescape Tuesday today so that I can show you my current tablescape for this week…

I wanted a table that was crisp and simple for the New Year.  I have been putting all the Christmas decor away and that always gets my nesting/orgnazing juices flowing!  Boy, have I been busy this weekend “getting my house in order”  – OH MY!

The blue plates were on clearance at Fred Meyer and I purchased those a few years back.  The silver chargers I just purchased at Sur La Table on clearance.  The white tablecloth was a wonderful find at the Goodwill along with the napkins and mirror centerpiece!  The silverware was a clearance item at Target that my sister picked up for me along with the mirrored coasters.  The sweet kissing Dutch youths were a gift as well as the blue vase.  The blue vase is from Russia.  The napkin fold is one I was excited to try from a book I recently purchased.  I like that you can tuck special items into the napkin or anything else to dress up the place setting.    I purchsed the silver wired ribbon and blue flowers from Michaels.

Hope you have a wonderful week and as for me, I think there is another room that needs my attention, or maybe a drawer, or maybe some shelves 🙂

Tablescape Tuesday – Russian Christmas Table   26 comments

It’s Tablescape Tuesday time!  This week I would like to share my Russian Christmas table with you.  I am Russian and my parents were born in Russia.  It is a heritage I am very proud of and I am happy to be able to share some of my Russian pieces with you.    These were all gifts brought back from Russia…

Here is how the table ended up incorporating all these wonderful treasures…

The black chargers are actually my gold chargers turned upside down.  I loved that it had the black lacquer look of the Russian painted pieces.

So come on over for some good Russian soup, we have a chicken noodle type of soup called Lopsha at Christmas – one of my favorites that I am looking forward to this year!

The red plates and stemware are from Sur La Table.  The white soup bowls were made in England and I purchased them at Goodwill!  The tablecloth  and napkins (on the chairs) are also Russian and were brought back from Russia.

I hope you enjoyed my Russian Christmas Table.  Now head on over to Susan’s at Beyond Naps on the Porch for more Tablescape Tuesday posts!
