We are headed for Arizona next weekend to catch a couple of Spring Training games!  I am sharing some pictures from our trip last year.  This is an annual tradition for us and I can’t wait to get there!

Spring Training in Arizona is not only about baseball!  If you come to Arizona for Spring Training, take a day and enjoy the spectacular desert beauty that Arizona offers.  We headed to Sedona on Saturday to do some hiking and exploring.  What a beautiful place to see and admire God’s glorious creation!

Sedona is home of the of the redrock monoliths named Coffepot, Cathedral, Bell and even Snoopy because their massive shapes resemble these objects.  The church in the collage above is the The Chapel of the Holy Cross.  This chapel is a great start to a day filled with hiking and exploring.

We also discovered the beautiful flowers and cactus of the Arizona desert.  I was able to get a picture of a bird finding some shade in one of the succulents.

There are so many hiking trails and scenic views in Sedona.  You really need more than one day to discover this beautiful area!  I would highly recommend a visit in spring – the temperatures are really nice for hiking at that time of the year!

Happy Blue Monday from sunny Phoenix, Arizona.  We are taking in some baseball games at Spring Training here in Arizona.  Today we went to the LA Dodgers/Texas Rangers game and saw plenty of BLUE!

We went to the Angels/Diamondbacks game today.  We were pretty excited to hear that Randy Johnson – The Unit – would be pitching today.  He is always great to watch.  It didn’t matter if you were an Angel fan or a Diamondback fan, he was the celebrity today.

Randy pitched real well but the Angels pulled off the win in the 10th inning.  Go Angels.

 

Today we went to the Mariners/Rockies game at the Peoria Sports Complex in Peoria, Arizona.  What a perfect sunny day for a baseball game!  It was 82 degrees and breezy so it was really comfortable sitting out in the sun.  Hubby picked really good seats!

When you go to a Spring Training game, you want to get there early and this is why…

You get to see the players up close as they arrive on the field and you might even get an autograph or two!

The Mariners always draw a great crowd.  Today there were 11,454 people at the game.

Ichiro hit a home run and best of all the Mariners beat the Rockies 9 to 4!!

Tomorrow we’re going to the Angels vs the Diamondbacks game.  That should be a fun game too!
