Tablescape Tuesday – Anticipating Spring Tea   17 comments

It was pretty chilly in Washington this weekend.  We had snow on Saturday evening into Sunday and it was quite pretty but it also made me start anticipating Spring!  So, I decided to decorate a Spring Tea Table.  The pink plates are my latest find at the Goodwill as well as one of the tea pots.  Most of the items on this table are from Goodwill.

I did find a new little shop this weekend called the Rose Tree Cottage.  I found some great silks there and the nest and most of the flowers on the napkins are from this shop.  The chair covers are of course pillow cases!  Oh so much cheaper than the real chair covers!  My centerpiece is also a Goodwill find.  I thought it was a unique arrangement and is a fun addition to my Anticipation of Spring Garden Tea!

Do come again soon!  I know Susan is expecting a visit so head on over to her blog to see more tablescapes!

Tablescape Tuesday

Since I am still in de-clutter mode, I decided to post a very simple tablescape this week.

It has been a little chilly here in Washington, so sit right down and I will serve you a nice hot bowl of  this cauliflower soup I have been wanting to try!  These bowls are some of my recent Goodwill finds.  They are Bohemia Czechoslovakian.  I just loved the pattern!  The dinner plate is from Fred Meyer and the chargers, tablecloth and table runner are from Goodwill.

I just realized that there are no napkins on my table 🙂  – I guess I will be serving those with the soup!

Happy Tablescape Tuesday everyone and for more tablescapes (with napkins) head on over to Susan’s!

Blue Monday & Tablescape Tuesday   51 comments

Happy Blue Monday and Happy New Year!   I am combining Blue Monday and Tablescape Tuesday today so that I can show you my current tablescape for this week…

I wanted a table that was crisp and simple for the New Year.  I have been putting all the Christmas decor away and that always gets my nesting/orgnazing juices flowing!  Boy, have I been busy this weekend “getting my house in order”  – OH MY!

The blue plates were on clearance at Fred Meyer and I purchased those a few years back.  The silver chargers I just purchased at Sur La Table on clearance.  The white tablecloth was a wonderful find at the Goodwill along with the napkins and mirror centerpiece!  The silverware was a clearance item at Target that my sister picked up for me along with the mirrored coasters.  The sweet kissing Dutch youths were a gift as well as the blue vase.  The blue vase is from Russia.  The napkin fold is one I was excited to try from a book I recently purchased.  I like that you can tuck special items into the napkin or anything else to dress up the place setting.    I purchsed the silver wired ribbon and blue flowers from Michaels.

Hope you have a wonderful week and as for me, I think there is another room that needs my attention, or maybe a drawer, or maybe some shelves 🙂

Tablescape Tuesday – New Year’s Bliss   17 comments

Can you believe it is almost 2009?! Wow!  Well, in order to celebrate the New Year, I have decided to go shabby chic!

The candelabra was a fun find at a country village store in Washington.  The tablecloth is actually a shower curtain I had mistaken for a tablecloth at the Goodwill 🙂 !  The napkins were another wonderful find at the Goodwill as well as the Wedgewood plates.  The goblets and champagne glasses were wedding gifts.

I have used most of these items in other tablescapes. That is what I love about tablescaping, seeing all the different ways to put a table together with the same pieces just different tablecloths!

Happy New Year everyone!  For more tablescapes, head on over to Susan’s!

Tablescape Tuesday – Nativity   27 comments

Merry Christmas everyone!  Today I would like to share my Nativity tablescape with you.

When our family gets together at Christmas Eve,  we read the Christmas story from Luke 2 in the Bible.  That reading is the inspiration for this tablescape.

The nativity set is a Lenox look alike that I received as a Christmas present from my work about 20 years ago. The black “table cloth” is actually a long piece of black tulle I am borrowing from my sister that I folded together to make a table cloth.  I have a white table cloth underneath to soften the black tone.  I purchased the dessert plates at Fred Meyer.  The white plates are Wedgewood that I picked up at Goodwill for a song of a deal.  I bought the candle wreaths at Michaels and the wine glasses were a wedding gift.
