Mount Rainier   1 comment

I have always enjoyed my weekly view of Mount Rainier from the window of an airplane…

Our weather was absolutely perfect this last weekend so the hubby and I decided it was time to actually go to the Mount Rainier National Park and truly experience this beauty up close and personal…

It is a vast area of beautiful wilderness.  There are so many hiking trails to choose from and explore.  We saw lots of bikers – both bicycles and motorcycles!  People brought their dogs and even their pumpkin carving project!

There are plenty of spots with benches to just sit and marvel at this volcano…

If you have the chance to visit this beauty, DO IT!

“Church in the Wildwood”   by Charley Pride

There’s a church in the valley by the wildwood
No lovelier place in the dale
No place is so dear to my childhood
As the little brown church in the dale.

How sweet, on a clear Sabbath morning
To listen to the clear ringing bells
Its tones, so sweetly, are calling
Oh, come to the church in the vale.

Oh, come, come, come, come
Come to the church in the wildwood
Oh, come to the church in the dale
No spot is so dear to my childhood
As the little brown church in the vale.

There, close by the church in the valley
Lies one that I loved so well
She sleeps, sweetly sleeps, ‘neath the willow
Disturb not her rest in the vale.

There, close by the side of that loved one
‘Neath the trees where the wild flowers bloom
When the farewell hymns shall be chanted
I shall rest by her side in the tomb.

Oh, come, come, come, come
Come to the church in the wildwood
Oh, come to the church in the dale
No spot is so dear to my childhood
As the little brown church in the vale.

The Middle of Nowhere, Washington   12 comments

The Hubby and I took a road trip along Washington’s Highway 20 as well as some other interesting roads that came along the way!  At times, what we saw was not what you would expect the state of Washington to look like!

The sites were breathtaking and thought-provoking as well…

I am participating in Mosaic Monday hosted by Mary at The Little Red House. Thank you Mary.

Adventures on the high seas!  Okay, maybe not the high seas but just the lake.  It was a beautiful evening for a dinner boat ride on our friend’s new boat last Sunday.  Lake Washington did not disappoint!  The views were just beautiful; the food delicious and our time with friends – priceless!

Have a great last week of April…

Blue Monday – Japanese Garden   21 comments

I went to the Japanese Garden on Saturday with my sister Ellen.  The weather here in the beautiful Northwest was just gorgeous on Saturday and we decided to go and see if there were any signs of spring budding yet.

The ducks, turtles and fish were all basking in the sunshine!  Always a treat to visit this garden!
